With unusual coloring for a German Shorthaired Pointer, Bosley had pure black and white markings. Typical of the breed, he was a sweetheart with his own family, but also a formidable guard dog for his owners' tack store. Shortly after commissioning his portrait, Bosley's owners had to cancel— their life was in crisis, and they had even had to give their dear Bosley away to a friend. I kept all my sketches and photos, thinking that I might finish the portrait some day anyway. Ten years later, his former owner called and said, "I just married the guy we gave Bosley to. Can you finish the portrait for a wedding present?" ...and there you have it!

*As with all of my prints, if you need a custom size or medium not listed here, just contact me, and I'll help you out. Be aware that, as the size of the print increases, the brush strokes and technique of the artist become more apparent. (Since not everyone respects the creative rights of artists, I have found it necessary to protect the images on my site with watermarks. Of course, the watermarks will not appear on your final print!)
