Something every horse person can relate to— some horses just see ghosts! The original of this Sumi-e brush painting won a blue ribbon at the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, California. The Sumi-e brush painting style captures the spirit of the moment with quick, decisive brushstrokes. There is no possibility of making corrections, so if you make a mistake, you just throw it away and start over. Painting in this fresh, intuitive style provides a sort of vacation for me, since my commissioned work needs to be so detailed and refined. For years, I have enjoyed doing live demonstrations of Sumi-e brush painting at Chinese New Year's celebrations.

*As with all of my prints, if you need a custom size or medium not listed here, just contact me, and I'll help you out. Be aware that, as the size of the print increases, the brush strokes and technique of the artist become more apparent. (Since not everyone respects the creative rights of artists, I have found it necessary to protect the images on my site with watermarks. Of course, the watermarks will not appear on your final print!)
